About Ink & Intellect: Our story

Discover the inspiration behind Ink & Intellect, meet our founder, and learn about our mission to create engaging, screen-free books for all ages in Chicago, Illinois. We believe in fostering creativity, learning, and meaningful connections.

Our inspiration and unique approach

Ink and Intellect was inspired by a passion for creating books that bring people together through creativity, learning, and meaningful experiences. In a world filled with constant screen time and digital distractions, we wanted to create affordable books that encourage connection, imagination, relaxation, and personal growth for readers of all ages.

What makes our books special is the thoughtful combination of entertainment, education, and emotional connection. Whether it’s a keepsake graduation journal, a seasonal activity book, a large print puzzle collection, or an educational activity for kids, every title is designed to feel engaging, accessible, and memorable.

Meet AA Michaels, our founder

Hi there, I'm AA Michaels, the creator behind Ink and Intellect—a growing collection of engaging, affordable puzzle books designed to make learning both fun and meaningful.

As a parent and lifelong learner, I’m passionate about creating educational tools that are accessible to everyone. I believe that learning doesn’t have to feel like work—it can be playful, creative, and something kids (and adults!) genuinely enjoy.

Through Ink and Intellect, I design a wide range of activity books—from word searches and brain games to themed learning challenges—that help build vocabulary, strengthen problem-solving skills, and encourage curiosity in a fun, low-pressure way.

The Ink & Intellect experience

We hope people feel inspired, relaxed, encouraged, and genuinely connected when they use Ink and Intellect books. Whether someone is solving puzzles, completing educational activities, or filling out a keepsake journal, we want the experience to feel meaningful, enjoyable, and rewarding from beginning to end.

Our goal is to create books that offer a healthy break from screens while encouraging creativity, learning, reflection, and quality time together. We want our books to leave a positive impact by helping people of all ages feel more connected, inspired, entertained, and engaged. Above all, we hope Ink and Intellect books become experiences people remember — not just books they complete once and set aside.

"Ink & Intellect books have brought so much joy and learning into our home. My kids love the activities, and I appreciate the screen-free engagement!"
